PIERRE GUILLAUME
Guillaume is one of the best modern French and American bow makers of this generation. The maker learnt his craft from world-class masters such as Bazin, Morizot, Ouchard who also passed techniques that reach back to several centuries.
Inspired by the old French bow making techique, Guillaume developed a unique style of his own. Guilllaume brings a combination of rigour and traditional French techniques, producing bows with frogs from silver, ebony or nickel.
Today, the name Guillaume is widely recognised as standing for commitment, bow-making of unequalled quality and authoritative appraisals of old bows.
His workshop, Maison Bernard, is in Brussels, Belgium and it attracts Soloists such as Joshua Bell, Igor Oistrakh, Yuzuko Horigome, Henrich Schiff, Mischa Maiky, and Musicians from Europe's largest Orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic, the London Symphony and the Berlin Philharmonic.
